Tournament I

THIS TOURNAMENT FEATURES 4 GROUPS WITH 8 PARTICIPANTS, BOTH MALE AND FEMALE.  THE WINNER IS DETERMINED BY WHOEVER SCORES THE BEST OUT OF THREE SUBMISSIONS.  THE WINNER OF EACH MATCH WILL ADVANCE TO THE SEMI-FINAL AND FINAL ROUNDS TO DETERMINE THE OVERALL WINNER.

Astrid Pulled Out Of The Tournament (hamstring injury).  Renata Advances To The Final By Forfeit.  Tournament Winner Will Be Determined By The Outcome Of The Caroline vs. Renata Matchup.

Note From Webmaster: We received alot of angry e-mails about Astrid's forfeiture as being "fixed".  When we started this tournament, we figured the two favorites to win the tournament would be Zora and Astrid.  However, as with all sports, upsets happen and unforeseen events can change the outcome of any sporting event, especially one depending totally on physical fitness.  Astrid is still with us but has suffered a serious hamstring injury which will require months to completely heal.  This was also the reason for the long delay between match#3 and match#4 as we were waiting to see if the hamstring heals in time.

MATCH #1(Zora vs. Nikki):

We were absolutely shocked as we watched Nikki who is 5'5", 125, totally control and defeat Zora who is 6'4" and 205!!! Nikki used quickness and agility to get behind Zora and apply her powerful headscissors.  Zora at one point had an ankle lock on Nikki, but forgot to use her other leg to against Nikki to keep her from mounting her.  Nikki subsequently mounted her and immediately snapped on another headscissor to end the match.  Zora did have Nikki pinned a couple of times but failed to make her submit.  Nikki will now advance to meet the winner of the Katrina vs. Erick match.  On paper, it seemed Zora would win the entire tournament, but now it seems wide open.  Note: Nikki is the tournament's youngest competitor. MATCH #2 (Astrid vs. Tony):

The first male vs. female match ended in only 39 seconds!!!  The first fall saw Astrid secure a quick bodyscissor and gain a quick submission.  The second fall saw Astrid get behind Tony and instead of a rear choke, she decided to go for another bodyscissor and gain another quick tap out.  She wanted to prove a point that anyone can gain a submission through a headscissor, but it takes a whole lotta strength to gain a submission through a bodyscissor.  Tony almost passed out within seconds in the second bodyscissor.  After the match was over, Astrid offered a winner-take-all last fall.  Tony agreed only to fall prey to a headscissor where Astrid just laid back and took her sweet time torturing the poor guy.  Large Photos And Video Clips Coming To Members Section.

MATCH #3 (Caroline vs. Brian):

Caroline won her first bout against Brian to advance to the semi-final round.  She will face Nikki for a place in the finals.  The match was intense and Brian did very well for himself.  Once Caroline secured those crushing headscissor and figure-4's, his face turned purple and he had no choice but to tap out.  This was probably the most competitive match we have had so far between a male and female.  Large Photos And Video Clips Coming Soon To The Members Section.

MATCH #4 (Renata vs. John):

This is probably the first time we have had a male vs. female where both combatants are of equal weight.  Renata won 2 submissions to 1.  John was able to secure a headlock and squeeze out a submission from Renata.  This match was extremely competitive with see-saw action.  Renata relied on bodyscissors and grapevines where John focused more on attacking the head and neck with his upper body.  Renata will now advance to the semi-final round against Astrid.

MATCH #5 (Caroline vs. Nikki):

Caroline vs. Nikki was a hard one to predict, but as soon as they locked up, it was obvious Caroline had the edge in leg strength.  Nikki was able to win one fall, but Caroline used those legs to full advantage to gain two submissions and advance to the final!!!  Large pics/clips and match details in the members section coming soon.

FNAL MATCH (Caroline vs. Renata):

This was probably one of the toughest and most competitive matches we have had in this tournament.  Each girl won one fall and the deciding fall was won by a classic jiu-jitsu rear choke.  Renata gave Caroline's toughest test to date making her tap out to a bodyscissor.  Caroline came back with two perfectly timed jiu-jitsu hooks/rear chokes to win the entire tournament.  Our Congratulations go to both Caroline and Renata who displayed great athletic ability and alot of heart in reaching the final.
